Mango Daiquiri with Southern Comfort (Mango SoCo)
A blended mango daiquiri with frozen mango, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and Southern Comfort. This New Orleans daiquiri will transport you to the Big Easy!

About
This is a New Orleans daiquiri—the slushy, blended kind. The kind you’re supposed to walk around with a big styrofoam cup on a hot day. I don’t use styrofoam cups at home. So, I use shatterproof hurricane glasses so we can walk around as we please with our daiquiris.
I’ve been making this particular daiquiri for over a decade. Our first trip to New Orleans was for 311 Day (IYKYK). The band celebrates big on March 11 every other year. A few of us made the voyage to the big easy to celebrate in 2014.
Anyway, Cafe Beignet is at 311 Bourbon Street. So, it was a natural hangout spot for our wild bunch. They had a New Orleans Style Mango Daiquiri special. Crafted with Southern Comfort and lovingly nicknamed the Mango SoCo. We fell in love with the cocktail and the city.
We came home to North Carolina, and SoCo became our house specialty that summer. Between Mango Daquiris and Sweet Tea and SoCo, we drank it for months!
With Mardi Gras and 311 Day coming up, I’ve had Mango Daquiris on my mind and wanted to share this easy recipe.
You can go the more traditional route and use white rum in these instead of Southern Comfort!
Ingredients
I always buy a bag of frozen mango chunks for these daiquiris. You can use fresh mango and freeze it yourself if you like. I do recommend using frozen to get the correct consistency.
Use any leftover frozen mango to make a Tropical Island Green Smoothie for breakfast the next day.
Crushed or cubed ice with the frozen mango chunks gives this daiquiri a perfect frozen consistency.
Fresh squeezed lime juice adds just the right amount of pucker to this cocktail. It brightens up the mango and brings home the daiquiri flavor.
Simple syrup adds a sweet touch and blends up smoothly. Make sure to make your simple syrup and let it cool before you make the daiquiris. I recommend keeping a jar of it in the fridge. Use this simple syrup recipe to make your own.
Southern Comfort Original is a whiskey-based liqueur bottled in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is sweet and fruity with a hint of spice. While it’s not the traditional alcohol in daiquiris, it works perfectly with the sweet mango. It’s a perfect choice to pay homage to New Orleans Daiquiri bars and honor my Southern roots.
Substitutions
Use white rum instead of Southern Comfort.
How to Make it
Add everything to a high speed blender and turn it on high.
Keep blending until it’s perfectly smooth!
Pour it into a hurricane glass or one of those souvenir cups you brought home from Fat Tuesdays.
Bottom’s up!
Serving Tips
- Use the portions in the recipe card to make a single daiquiri or a pitcher!
- If you don’t have a shot glass or jigger to measure 1 ounce, use a tablespoon to measure. There are 2 tablespoons in 1 ounce.
- Daiquiris are meant to be carried around! I love using shatterproof hurricane glasses for daiquiris.
- Mango Daiquiris are the perfect cocktail for Mardi Gras, the Super Bowl, Pool Parties, or Backyard BBQs.
- Or pour yourself one anytime, walk around with it, and pretend you’re in the French Quarter!
