Homemade Lemonade

This easy homemade lemonade recipe makes the best fresh-squeezed lemonade. You’ll need about 8 lemons for a 2-quart pitcher or 16 lemons to make a gallon. Make a pitcher or a gallon of the best freshly squeezed lemonade.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 5 or 6 lemons)
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 4 cups of water
  • 2 lemons, sliced
  • ice

Instructions

  1. Wash the lemons well. Then, juice enough lemons to get 1 cup of lemon juice. (about 5 or 6 lemons) 
  2. Add the lemon juice and 1 cup of sugar to a 2-quart pitcher. Stir to dissolve and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Add the cold water and stir to mix. Taste and adjust the sugar if needed.
  4. Add the sliced lemons and chill until ready to serve.
  5. Serve over ice.

Notes

  • Easily double the recipe to make 1 gallon of lemonade.
  • Refrigerate in a covered pitcher for up to 5 days.
